Making Specialty Gift Baskets

Specialty Gift Baskets. The Best Gifts and Easy Too.

Published by admin on August 27, 2008

We all would like to give a perfect gift when those many gift giving occasions arise.

However, sometimes it is hard, or too expensive, to come up with just the right gift. Or you don’t have the time to drive around town looking for inspiration and/or “just the thing.”

Problem solved. Give a specialty gift basket and it will be remembered and appreciated.

You can find or, better yet, make a specialty gift basket for anyone for any occasion. You can make it as generic or as personal as you wish. That’s one of the beauties of specialty gift basket giving.

If you buy a specialty gift basket that fits the bill, you can personalize it with just one additional item that relates to the person and says it is from you.

When you make your own specialty gift baskets, you make it totally personal, one of a kind, appreciated, and remembered gift. Who could ask for more?

Specialty gift baskets should have items that the recipient truly loves or reflects their personality. Funny items or useful items are popular and easy too. When it is “the thought that counts”, a specialty gift basket shows that you really do think about that person.

Start with a Theme:
A theme basket has things relating to the theme. (Duh.)

So a basket for someone who likes to read will have reading and book related items. For example: A book, magazine, book store gift card, magnifying specs, picture of a favorite author, book lamp, etc.

Need some ideas? What are some examples? (The sky is the limit.)
Here is just a very few themes to start your creative thinking:

Books,Movies, Beach, Camping/Hunting/Fishing, Boats, Babies, Weddings, Wine and Cheese, Spa, Diets, Chocolate, etc., Picnics, Any Sport, Type of industry or business, (for you accountant for ex.), college, graduation, New job, New Relationship/lover/friend, Health, New puppy, Anniversary, Cocktail Party, New Home/Apartment, etc..

How to make your own specialty gift baskets.

Start with a list of all the things you would like to include in the basket. These are the things that relate to the theme and to the individual. Things that the person will really like.

Find a container. Baskets or decorated bags are the popular choice. This can be fancy or you can find a variety of inexpensive ones at any dollar store or discount store.

Put it all together. Add some flowers, paper filling, easter basket “grass”, then wrap it all up.

Ta Da. Done.

Where to buy specialty gift baskets?

Online. There is a hugh selection of specialty gift baskets online. You can select something that fits, or have one make to order. Most of these outlets will deliver to you or to the recipient. Great when you can’t make deliver in person.

Prices range from about $35 and go up from there.

You can also find lots of baskets at the malls. However, the selection may be smaller. You can always add to a basic basket and make it more personal.

Receiving Specialty Gift Baskets is always fun and appreciated. Next time you need a gift, think specialty gift baskets.

p.s. Lots of people get into the gift basket habit to the extent that they are asked to make baskets for others to give. It is a nice additional income maker.

Gift basket ideas for project???

Published by admin on September 8, 2008

I need to come up with an idea for an online service. Nothing real just demos for my e-commerce class. I went w/ ordering last minute gift baskets online for that person that's hard to shop for. I wanted to do buckets w/ 6 packs of beer for men, mixed drinks for women both w/ snacks, a shirt and flip flops or something. Then I decided that going thru the research and disclaimer info for alcohol sales was more than what I wanted to deal w/ for such a small project so most of my ideas are out the window. Now I have only one basket w/ food and glass coca cola bottles and a Blockbuster popcorn bucket w/ giftcards and candy. Now I'm stuck and I need more than just two products to sell. I'm in a rut so any, even if crazy, ideas would really help me out. Baskets for women isn't too hard but what about men? Thanks in advance, I'd really appreciate any kind of advice!

how about personalized items like shirts/cups/beer mugs/wine bottle holders/ door mats!! why not!

What can I put in a gift basket, need ideas?

Published by admin on September 5, 2008

It’s for a very close friend of mine. She just made 21 and I want the stuff to be baby blue, that’s her favorite color. I’m planning to buy this package with different items that you can put on your body and a baby blue teddy bear. Please help me

people can get carried away when they just stick with the favorite color. what's more thoughtful would be putting all her favorite stuff.

sticking to the details you gave, i would automatically suggest blueberry or mint-scented body bath or cream, body scrub, lotion and cologne. there are gift packages that are readily available with the complete set…which should show you what a common gift idea it is. on the other hand, women can be quite particular about scents so this may be her favorite color but would she actually like the smell enough to use it?

putting her favorite cologne, favorite chocolate, favorite snack, book by a favorite author, album by a favorite singer, a pillow or a bath towel in her favorite color would be more personal.

Baby gift basket ideas?

Published by admin on September 4, 2008

Okay so my good friend is expecting a baby girl soon , iv decided im gonna make my own gift basket for her, i already bought the essentials to put in like nappies, baby shampoo , dummy etc but i want to make it really original with a personal touch any ideas? Must be able to shop buy iv looked online but quite expensive - on a budget as have a baby myself so only have about £50 to spend.
Thanks x

Ok my aunt is expecting too so i can relate. if i didn't know the sex of the baby i would use soft neutral colors like green or yellow for the blanket http://www.nursery-rooms.co.uk/images/Winnie-the-pooh-nursery/Honey-tree-pooh-embroidered-fleece-small.jpg (sorry i couldn't give you more variety to choose from, this is the only one i found)
and dont forget the teddy bears, range them different in sizes and colours http://www.morethanagiftonline.co.uk/soft_toy_catalogue/teddies.jpg oh and buy diapers and if you want to you can sew or crotche (sp, pronounced cra-shay) a little pillow for him/her to rest on and to cuddle with, and try to make up a little lulllaby then buy one of those recording gift cards and put the lullaby on it, dont forget about the parents too, to help them save money on baby necessity's buy them at least a 20 dollar gift card for a baby store conveniently close to their home so that the mom doesn't have to drive or walk too long to get there. hope this helps and tell them congrats 4 me.
